Spring cleaning and organizing

I do not like to clean which I have probably mentioned before but I always feel better after I do. So now that spring is officially here I've been trying to clean up and organize. Our playroom was a disaster so hubby and I headed over to Ikea for a book shelf to put everything away on. I'd been feeling like I was constantly tripping over a toy. Hopefully this will help.So how do you organize toys? I'd especially love ideas for barbies, babies and dress up clothes. My girls are so girly and I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed. I still need to do more organizing and give some away. My next project will be to go through their tons of stuffed animals. I don't even know where they all come from.

We have almost the same set up in the toy room.. I love it.. At the end of the day, we just throw everything into the bins..as long as everything is off of the floor, I am happy..we don't have many barbies yet..lol, so I have no idea about that kind of storage!

Looking pretty organized there. Funny you should write about this. I just blogged about how our house has been taken over by toys, toys and more toys!!

Oh crap, those damned stuffed animals multiply like crazy! I try and keep our toys organized with lots of containers; baskets and bins are really helpful to keep little parts together. I also use those under-the-bed storage bins for big sets of toys, like large wooden blocks. I have HUGE baskets in the kids' closets that house the stuffed animals. The *theory* is that we only keep as many stuffed animals as can fit in the baskets. When they start to overflow, we need to purge some stuffed animals. That's the theory, anyway.

Oh it looks great! I worked on Joshua's closet this weekend, and it still has a long way to go!

I really need to organize my daughters playroom too. We made her a little spot in our basement because we ran out of room upstairs. She has tons of stuffed animals too. I have no idea where I'm going to store these fuzzy guys. Your cleaning job looks great. Thanks for sharing.

I put all my girls' dress up clothes in a small toy box. They can drag them all out when they want to use them, and then just pile them all back in when they are done.

The stuffed animals... oy, they seem to multiply overnight. Honestly, I occassionally try to weed them out and give away the ones they don't seem to play with anymore - but soon they will both be old enough to notice that they're gone. I don't know what I'll do then...
