A crazy end to a wonderful weekend

So I'm going to start with the good stuff. It was Alyssa's turn to get in on the action. Lately she has wanting to be just like her sister. She couldn't reach her pedals but had a blast scooting all over the yard with her feet. She's even wearing Gillian's old helmet. Then she played some basketball with her daddy and laughed hysterically every time she made a basket. Look at her go!
Even Sonny loves a game of basketball and tried to steal the ball from Jeff.
Then it was time for the crazy part. Our water heater went out and I still don't have any hot water. The repair guy will come tomorrow and I can't seem to get a straight answer from Sears whether they are coming from 8-1 or 12-5. They keep changing it on me and seem fine with the fact that I should wait around all day.
Then it got worse. Jeff started complaining that he didn't feel well and then at 11:30 he ran to the bathroom to throwup and I heard a thud. I went running and he said that he passed out but was okay now. I kept talking to him and then he wasn't saying anything else. So I went in the the bathroom and he had passed out again. I yelled his name and he was unresponsive. I freaked out but I checked and made sure that he was still breathing and had a pulse and ran to call 911. He was conscious before the ambulance came and alert and aware. This happened once before in June after which he had his gall bladder removed. He is in the hospital still and hopefully will be out tomorrow morning. I am beyond stressed and I just feel like I can't catch a break. I feel like so many things are going wrong and I just want things to go smoothly for once. I just want everyone in my family to be okay and healthy. Is that really too much to ask?
The only cause they can come up with is Vaso-vagal syncope. Here's the explanation I found on the internet~This is caused by the triggering of a paradoxical reflex, which causes a fall in blood pressure and loss of consciousness. There are multiple terms to describe vaso-vagal syncope, including vaso-depressor syncope, neurocardiogenic syncope, cardio-inhibitory syncope, and neurally-mediated syncope, all of which refer to the same reflex. This reflex usually occurs while standing upright although it can on occasion occur while sitting, after exercise, or after a meal.
Please say a prayer for Jeff tonight and for my sanity too. Hopefully I'll get some sleep but without him here I'm sure it will be hard. I'm not sure when I'll get to post again but hopefully I'll have some good news to share and no more stress.

Your whole family is in our prayers!

Also, the vasovagal syncope? My father had an eerily similar incident occur a couple months ago, and they diagnosed him with the same thing. I'm so sorry you had to go through it. My mother sounded just like you when she finally called me after it all happened. Completely rattled. But if it makes you feel better, my father was better and recovered in a day or so. Good as new.

Praying!

Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry for all the stress! I know the stomach flu has been going around EVERYWHERE, and a friend of mine said the same thing (passing out in the bathroom) happened to her while throwing up while she was sick. Are you sure it wasn't just out of weakness or illness? Either way, I hope your husband is much better soon, and that the rest of your family is healthy and that you get some hot water!

You're in my thoughts and prayers. It's the first time I've heard of vasovagal syncope. Hang in there Kat, a lot of people are praying for you and your family. I hope Jeff will be feeling better tomorrow.

Take care.
